I found it

So back from SF and IHRSA, with a confident mind about what the future will bring me. The trade fair was really enjoyable and I did find some interesting stuff. As a club owner it isn’t just what could bring in the money, it’s about finding stuff that you belive in. I mean spinning and stuff like that works, but it really isn’t my thing, and I don’t belive this is the best type of exercise there is, what about crosstrainers? Crosstrainer – “spinning” this would be much more productive since there is more movement, and this could happend with Keiser’s M5 Strider.

There wasn’t really much new in the business, but I can assure you that the future brings Functional Training to a new level. So my gym “Functional training studio” have a great future, it follows the trend.

I have never liked the vibration type of training, I think this is for rehab, probably you could use it for a better blood flow to get a better recovery, but for training? Don’t think so. And if we look at IHRSA vibra’s booth was one of the smallest one, which could tell us a little about the future. I my mind it’s clear, training should be productive and natural. Movements should follow the bodys abilitys, and I don’t think that the body is made for vibrating.

There will be some new machines in my gym, I left an order yesterday. There is alot of machines out there, but basically their all the same. Style and movement are pretty much the same, no one makes a really bad machine theese days, cause there so much experience of making machines in the business. After all they have all looked the same since the 70′s , with only some better movement patterns and more focus on the look. There are still alot of news concering the TVs, Ipods and stuff. Well, I can buy that Ipod connections is good, but who needs a tv in every machine?

They thing I found the best on the fair (concering machines) was the new HOIST plate loaded, I have orderd some, and with their movement pattern they have renew the machine industry. I love hoist!

Here I am with Dr. Björn Alber, a very very interesting person. He’s a doctor and one with great knowledge about training and how it affects the organism. I poped alot of questions to him that I don’t know anyone could answear, and this guy could give some answears. I will have a interview with him and publish it on the site. Have you ever thought of what really happens when you start to shake during a strenght related movement? He gave me the answear on this one: It’s a communication problem between the golgi apparatus – nerv fiber and the muscle cell, the chemical synapse can therefore not be accurate.

Dr Bjorn Alber is also a part of the new training machines X-force (www.x-force.se) I did a session on theese machines and of course the idea is great. But I think there still need to be some development and the prices are kinda’ sick, but In the future the might have success.

Here is another thing, a treadmill that doesn’t need any electricity. Now that’s GREEN. On the other hand you need lotsa’ greens to buy one… It’s like beeing a hamster when you run in it.

When were not a the fair we did alot of shopping and also a session at Gold’s in SF. The humidity and temperature was high! The pic is of me and Jörn-Stian who is one of the celebrity personal trainers in Norway. We had alot of fun and really enjoyed exchanged experiences. We will alot togheter in the future. Some competitions between us in terms of weights and core movements did happend, I think we were pretty equal.

On our way to burn the green…

The food was expensive as hell, I won’t complain about the prices at home for sure. A big sallad with chicken 25dollar, and that is excluding the tip… Food intake was good the whole trip and it was very easy to find good food (even though it was expensive) I actually lost some bodyfat. This was manily because the time for cardio was better than ever, and one day I did five sessions (I was trying out different concepts on the fair). I went to GNC and Vitamine Shoppe to buy some supplements, It was hard to buy supps to that kind of price since I have everything free at home, but I really needed it. Every day I ate Zero Impact bars which I have paid tribute to before in this blogg. No bar in the world can be compared to this one!

We didn’t eat at this place, the food was crap! We did take a look at the ladies in there but the hype isn’t correct, I’ve never visited this place before even though I studied in US a couple of years ago. Well now I’ve seen it, and it isn’t much to see. In Scandinavia we sure are spoiled with good looking people.

Next year the IHRSA show will be in San Diego, can’t wait. But now I have plenty of work ahead of me. Plenty of construction work to do in the expanding gym . Today I did my first PT session on the Trx, this thing is here to stay! I love it!

Thanks for the trip to IHRSA my friend. I learned a lot during our workouts, and I hope you did as well. Keep on training the way you move!

Relevanta vetenskapliga studier saknas dock.

I sure did Jörn!
I appriciate it, and will now do the “hockey” and the other plank sort of thing on a regular basis. Next time on hockey, I will fight for at least 5min, note that I won’t do squats before though :)
Talk to you soon again!

Tjena Seth!
