A clients friend… contacted me, we had an meeting in my office. This guy was pretty average, enjoying fast food, alcohol and a indisputable unhealthy living. Working far to many hours and suppling his body with the wrong food. To this we could add his training habits, training intense for a couple of weeks and then stopped training for several weeks. And for me it makes sense: Train hard, poor eating habits and to many hours work could just end in one situation - overtraining. While calorie consumption was on the surplus everyday this doesn’t counteract overtraining (which many people tend to belive).
So the thing here was to find a solution on his “all or nothing” attitude and his poor eating habits. We started up with the diet (which in my mind is allways nr 1) and then I developt a training program, where he could se that there is no need for training 6times a week to se good results.
We found balance. Ever since that day we started, consistensy have been the word. Selldom he misses a training session and using the Intermittent fasting approach to drop fat and build muscles.
